Faleminderit Pogradec!

Goodbye Papà at the “Verbum Est – Është Fjala” International Monodrama Festival

Pogradec, a small town on Lake Ochrid in Albania, has been a wonderful surprise – surely one of the highlights of this year for Teatro Multilingue. So happy to have participated in the first edition of the Verbum Est – Është Fjala International Monodrama Festival – we met some incredible fellow artists from the region and from afar (Spain, Colombia, USA, Kosovo, Italy, Ukraine), creating a truly welcoming experience.

Goodbye Papà (our monologue in English, italiano and ελληνικά) opened the festival on Monday, October 6. A super thank you to the wonderful audience who proved once more that multilingual performances do work even though you don’t speak all of the languages used in the play. A big shout out to Henri and Eni at ShpellArt, the venue, who welcomed us with warmth and professionalism.

The biggest faleminderit goes to Andi Kosta whose love-filled inspiration put the festival together and gave us this great opportunity. See you next year!

Pogradec is a small town nestled on Lake Ochrid, a natural gem on the border between Albania and North Macedonia. The area is also very close to Greece and Kosovo, sharing an interesting multicultural and multilingual heritage. The trip also gave the chance to stop over in Tirana for a day.
