Courses

Teatro Multilingue‘s Multilingual Workshop and Courses are available in different formats for professional actors, amateur actors, businesses, schools, universities and people in and around the performing arts who work and live in or would like to explore multilingual and multicultural contexts. Different formats but one main focus.

This is a full immersion into the potential of multilingue, so you can explore the advantages of “letting go of language” for your performing, educational, working and living skills.

Identify and experiment a kind of communication that goes beyond the idea of language. Make the spoken word we often take for granted on stage shine even more. Break the very often constructed barriers between languages (particularly “native” and “foreign”) by working on all the possible combinations of language patterns – that you know or don’t know!

Improvisation. Scene work. Basics of Commedia dell’Arte. Camera work. Multilingualism and Integration. (Programs are adaptable to the needs of each group and will depend on the group’s previous experience. Our coaches will also make use of Teatro Multilingue‘s written repertoire.)

For 3 years in a row with Athen’s Η Έκτη Τέχνη Drama School; and also in Dublin, Ireland, for the Mother Tongues Festival in February 2024; in Luxembourg in April 2024, and in Athens in June 2024.

“An enlightening and transformative experience. An extraordinary journey into the heart of communication that revealed new facets of my identity as a performer.”

Justyna Cwojdzinska, director at POLISH ARTS FESTIVAL

“It’s the third year we come to Rome for this workshop. The students all have such a great time and learn so much.”

Vasia Argenti, Director of Η Έκτη Τέχνη Drama School Athens, Greece

“Multilingualism in the arts is of vital importance for us at the Mother Tongues Festival. This workshop has offered artists in Ireland food for thought on their creative expression while using more than one language, and has made them aware of the potential of multilingualism in the context of artistic creation.”

FRancesca la morgia, director at Mother tongues, dublin (ireland)
